‘A moving and confident novel about the preciousness of life’ Nikesh Shukla
‘Djinn Patrol is storytelling at its best’ Anne Enright
Award-winning journalist Deepa Anappara is coming to Corbridge to discuss her extraordinary and highly praised debut novel, Djinn Patrol on the Purple Line.
A vivid and heartbreaking novel set in a fictional North Indian city, Djinn Patrol explores the sinister disappearances of local children and follows nine-year-old Jai: an aspiring detective and reality police show aficionado, as we venture through the sprawling slums and the most dangerous parts of the city in an attempt to find his missing friends.
A charming and warm detective drama that confronts the real-life inequalities of a modern India and the vulnerabilities of it’s children; we can’t wait to welcome Deepa to tell us all about it!
