Forum Books Presents Charlotte Runcie

Venue: The Chapel, Market Place, Corbridge, NE45 5AW

We’re very excited to welcome radio columnist, poet and arts writer Charlotte Runcie to celebrate the release of her debut book, Salt On Your Tongue: Woman and the Sea.

An ode to our oceans, Salt On Your Tongue explores what the sea means to us, and particularly what it has meant to women through the ages. Navigating through ancient Greek myths, poetry, shipwrecks and Scottish folktales, Charlotte shows how the sea has inspired, fascinated and terrified us, and how she herself fell in love with the deep blue.

From the sailors who brave treacherous waters and the women who lost their loved ones to the waves, to the creatures that dwell in their depths, Salt On Your Tongue is a lyrical exploration of the sea in art and in life.

Bringing a new perspective to a much loved subject, Charlotte Runcie is a fresh voice in nature writing perfect for fans of Amy Liptrot and Kathleen Jamie.

We hope you will join us, and Charlotte, Wednesday 30th January here at The Chapel, Corbridge. Doors will be open from 6.30pm for a 7.00pm start.
