The long awaited and much publicised launch of Harper Lee’s Go Set a Watchman was quite an event in Corbridge with Forum Books hosting a speed reading of the newly published novel. Anne Jones, a retired teacher from Riding Mill read the book in the Forum in just 25 minutes on the morning of its launch – a world record time. She read all 278 pages in 25 minutes and 31 seconds.
Sky News and local radio were on hand to record the astounding feat – putting Forum Books and Corbridge on the literary map!
